Many families turn first to their faith community in times of need. Thrive@Worship™ builds on that trust by partnering with places of worship to connect individuals and families with Trident United Way Family Coaches, timely support and trusted community resources.
For families working hard to make ends meet, one unexpected expense can quickly create an impossible choice. A rent increase, car repair, medical bill, utility bill or missed shift can put housing, transportation or financial stability at risk.
Thrive@Worship™ meets families in a place where they already feel known and connected, making it easier to ask for help early and take practical steps toward stability.
How it Works
- Faith Community Connection: A participating place of worship connects individuals and families facing financial challenges to Trident United Way.
- One-on-One Support: A Family Coach listens, helps assess the situation and works with the individual or family to identify the next best steps.
- Coordinated Support: Families receive help navigating immediate needs, connecting to local resources and building a practical plan for long-term financial stability.
Thrive@Worship Available Services Include
- One-on-One Guidance from Family Coaches: Personalized, confidential coaching to help individuals and families assess needs, set goals and create a practical plan for stability.
- Housing Stability Support: Help navigating rent, utilities, eviction prevention and other housing-related challenges.
- Transportation Support: Connections to resources that may help with car repairs, insurance, transit access or other transportation barriers.
- Short-Term Financial Support: Help addressing unexpected expenses, such as medical bills, utility needs or emergency costs, when funding is available. Financial assistance is paid directly to vendors to ensure accountability and maximize impact.
- Referrals to Local Nonprofit Partners: Direct connections to trusted community organizations offering food assistance, health care, employment support, legal aid, financial coaching and other resources.
- Support for Faith Partners: Trident United Way works alongside places of worship to help respond to needs in a coordinated, confidential and sustainable way.
Faith communities are trusted anchors for many families. Thrive@Worship™ strengthens that role by bringing coaching, resources and practical support into places where trust already exists.
When families receive support early, temporary setbacks are less likely to become long-term instability. Together, Trident United Way and faith partners can help families stay connected, supported and moving toward lasting financial stability.
