Food Lion Feeds Charitable Foundation Awards Grant to Trident United Way

Partnership increases access to nutritious food, provides nutrition education

North Charleston, SC – Trident United Way has received $3,300 from the Food Lion Feeds Charitable Foundation to help nourish neighbors experiencing hunger. The “Nourishing Our Neighbors” grant supports community feeding partners as they tackle food insecurity and promote healthier lifestyles through nutritional education initiatives.  

“We are honored to be selected for a Nourishing Our Neighbors grant from Food Lion,” said Natasha Chatman, Chief Impact Officer at Trident United Way. “This generous support will allow us to increase our efforts toward food security and financial stability for our Tri-County neighbors. We are so grateful for Food Lion’s continued partnership and their commitment to our community.” 

The Food Lion Feeds Charitable Foundation is committed to supporting families facing food insecurity across its 10-state footprint. Established in 2001, the foundation provides financial support for programs and organizations dedicated to feeding local neighbors in the communities it serves. Since its inception, the foundation has awarded nearly $23 million in grants.
