NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. — Our Lady of Mercy Community Outreach (OLMCOS) is proud to announce a new partnership with Trident United Way, expanding access to vital services for neighbors in North Charleston. OLMCOS has opened a satellite office at Trident United Way’s North Charleston Center for Strong Families on Rivers Avenue. Through this collaboration, OLMCOS has added North Charleston to the other 13 zip codes it serves in Charleston County, creating a new and more accessible point of connection for those in need.

At Trident United Way’s North Charleston Center for Strong Families, one of four centers across the Tri-County, families can connect to multiple services under one roof, removing barriers and making it easier to access support. In addition to community partners like OLMCOS, Trident United Way’s Family Coaches are available to work one-on-one with families to build financial stability, set goals, navigate resources and plan for the future with ongoing, personalized support. This work is part of Trident United Way’s bold community goal to uplift 15,000 families out of poverty by 2035.

“Our mission has always been to meet our neighbors where they are,” said Jermaine Husser, executive director of Our Lady of Mercy Community Outreach. “Partnering with Trident United Way allows us to extend our reach and ensure that more individuals and families can access the support and resources they need to thrive.”

Neighbors can now connect with OLMCOS at our satellite location Monday through Thursday from 9 am  to 4 pm for assistance with social services, housing repairs, financial assistance, diapers, emergency food boxes and referrals for additional services:

“Across our community, more and more families are working hard, yet still struggling to make ends meet as costs continue to rise faster than wages,” said DJ Hampton, President and CEO of Trident United Way. “Partnerships like this are our strength. Bringing organizations together in one place makes it easier for families to access support, connect to resources and start building lasting stability.”

By working alongside Trident United Way, both organizations are strengthening their shared commitment to building a more equitable and supportive community and ensuring neighbors have easier access to the care and support they deserve.
