Coastal Community Foundation and Trident United Way Announce Partnership for Tri-County Storm Relief

CHARLESTON, S.C.– Coastal Community Foundation (CCF) and Trident United Way (TUW) announce a partnership to jointly raise funds for Tri-County storm relief (Berkeley, Charleston and Dorchester counties). CCF’s Lowcountry Disaster Relief Fund will continue to support all nine counties in the foundation’s coastal South Carolina footprint. This partnership will come in the form of additional support to TUW’s region of the Tri-County area.

“The alliance between Trident United Way and Coastal Community Foundation not only benefits our community by amplifying the resources of both organizations, it also allows donors to access a streamlined community-wide storm relief program quickly and easily when time is of the essence,” said Trident United Way President and CEO DJ Hampton II. “Coastal Community Foundation has always been a great partner to Trident United Way and an incredible resource to our community. We are pleased to work with them to better serve our friends and neighbors in the Tri-County.”

“Every hurricane season we prepare to meet the needs of those impacted by storms in our region,” said Coastal Community Foundation President and CEO Darrin Goss. “Collaboration between two leading community organizations means we can have a greater impact to quickly and efficiently provide aid to areas with the most need after a natural disaster.”

CCF and TUW are both among the Volunteer Organizations Assisting with Disaster Relief (VOADs), continuously supporting and working in collaboration with organizations on the ground. All donations to this fund go directly toward disaster relief. Any administrative fees are covered by Trident United Way and CCF’s Community Partnership Program respectively. If relief is not necessary following the current storm, donations will remain in the fund for future recovery efforts. Contribute to the Lowcountry Disaster Relief Fund here. If you wish to designate your donation to the joint fund, please indicate that your contribution is for the Tri-County area on the form.
