Tocqueville Society Events

On  August 1, 2023 members of the Trident United Way African American Leadership Council and Tocqueville Society gathered for a private tour and reception at the International African American Museum led by IAAM President & CEO Dr. Tonya Matthews and other team members. Attendees also had the opportunity to hear from AALC Chair Jennifer Brown, Tocqueville Society Chair Giff Daughtridge and TUW President & CEO DJ Hampton.

On May 10, 2022, members of Tocqueville Society gathered for their spring event at The Jasper. Members heard about Trident United Way's efforts in the community and enjoyed views of Charleston and the Ashley River.

On December 9, 2021 the Trident United Way Tocqueville Society hosted a members meet and greet. Guests heard remarks from Trident United Way Tocqueville Society co-chairs Anita Zucker and Bill Finn, President & CEO Chloe Knight Tonney and AVP of Community Impact Cathy Easley, and enjoyed music provided by the Coastal Chamber Musicians.

Trident United Way supporters enjoyed a warm spring evening meeting Trident United Way's new CEO, hearing updates on TUW's work and enjoying a beautiful view of Marion Square from Hotel Bennett.

Trident United Way Tocqueville members were treated to an evening at a beautiful historic Charleston home on the Battery for its fall event. Gracious hosts Stephan and Mary Hammond opened their home to current Tocqueville members and Renee Linyard-Gary updated members on Healthy Tri-County's release of the Tri-County Health Improvement Plan.

Trident United Way Tocqueville Society members gathered together for a round of golf at the prestigious Golf Club At Briar's Creek followed by an exquisite dinner in the clubhouse. Guests learned about Trident United Way's partnership with four local school districts to improve literacy rates in children through the Reading by Third Project.
