The Position

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO), reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, is a seasoned leader with high ethical standards that brings broad finance experience in auditing, gathering and evaluating financial information and making actionable recommendations to senior leadership. S/he is well organized with sound technical skills, analytical ability and good judgment. S/he will partner with senior leadership and the board of directors to develop and implement strategies across the organization.

 

The CFO will manage finance (accounting, budgeting, control, and reporting) for a complex nonprofit with multiple funding sources including government (federal and state) contracts and a structure with diverse program areas. S/he will oversee all compliance for government contracts and private grants and will also supervise directors responsible for human resources, building services and IT.  S/he must be able to adapt to continually evolving environment and thrive in a deadline-oriented workplace.

 

Qualifications

  • Graduate level education
  • CPA
  • Minimum of 5 years of financial management experience in a senior management role, preferably in a nonprofit organization with a budget of at least $10 million
  • Experience in a financial management role partnering with executive staff, resulting in the development and implementation of creative financial management strategies
  • Experience in or knowledge of nonprofit accounting, including fund and grant accounting compliance and reporting
  • Knowledge and understanding of Office of Management and Budget Circular A133 audits preferred

AmeriCorps Service Opportunity

Trident United Way’s AmeriCorps Program seeks self-motivated team

players with human services backgrounds to assist families

with locating resources to become financially stable.

Must have excellent customer service skills and high computer literacy.

Must also pass an FBI background check.

High school diploma or GED required.  Bachelor’s degree preferred.

The AmeriCorps program is not an employment position.

Member program benefits:
