Interim President and CEO

Bradley R. Davis (Brad) joined the Trident United Way team in 2022 as interim president and chief executive officer. Trident United Way was established as the Community Chest in Charleston, SC, in 1944. Today, its mission is to be a catalyst for measurable community transformation in education, financial stability and health.

Previously, Davis served 22 years as the Managing Partner at Rick Hendrick BMW/MINI/Volvo in Charleston. During his automotive career, Brad earned multiple industry awards — a two-time Volvo President’s Club winner, three-time Hendrick Champions Award winner and four-time BMW Center of Excellence Award winner. Davis then worked another three years with Hendrick as the Charleston area Community Relations Specialist before retiring in 2018.

Davis found ways to serve the Charleston community while managing 175 employees and three dealerships. He served on his church’s Staff Parish Relations Committee, the Charleston Metro Chamber Board of Directors and the Charleston Metro Chamber’s Education Foundation, including a term as the foundation board chair. In 2009 he was awarded the Zucker Family Champion for Change Award. The South Carolina Legislature appointed him to serve on the Dorchester County Career and Technology Center Board of Trustees, where he is still a board member.

Davis began his service to Trident United Way after being invited to a luncheon by the late Manley Eubanks. From that early meeting, he established a successful employee campaign and in 1999 served as the Auto Dealer Co-Chair with the TUW Annual Campaign. Brad served as a Campaign Ambassador for many years and advanced his Trident United Way volunteerism by serving as Team Leader for each Day of Caring. Additionally, Davis served on the Community Impact Committee for nine years. He was a member of the Nominating Committee in 2021 and served on the Board of Directors and Executive Committee from 2018 until 2022. He was serving on Finance Committee until he accepted this new position as interim president and chief executive officer.

Brad was born and raised in the Maryland suburbs outside of Washington, DC. He attended college at Prince George’s Community College, where he studied criminal justice. In his “spare” time, Davis races sports cars and recently trained and became a race official for the Sports Car Club of America. He and his wife Debbie have two children and three grandchildren.
