Public Policy/Advocacy
Key Public Policy Advocacy Positions
We will work with key stakeholders at the local, regional, and state levels to advocate for:
- Expanding the existing pilot program to create access to four-year-old kindergarten for all children and families in our state
- Moving the state's education standard from "minimally adequate" to "high quality."
- Increasing public funding and support for collaborative school/community partnerships, including community learning centers.
- Providing the resources necessary to increase prevention efforts, in addition to ongoing intervention efforts, for both child abuse and high-risk behaviors.
- Additional funding for after-school and extended day learning opportunities for middle and high school students.
