Taxes are due in just six weeks. Time is running out.

Trident United Way and Trident Urban League are providing free tax preparation to help local residents of modest income file for the Earned Income Tax Credit.

Not only can eligible families get their taxes prepared and e-filed, they can also open a bank account.

Also, tri-county residents who are disabled, veterans or those who receive Social Security Disability should come out and have their taxes done in order to be eligible for a tax rebate under the terms of the recent economic stimulus package.
