Raising A Reader

Raising A Reader is a national program that promotes interactive literacy between parents and children. Trident United Way has brought Raising A Reader to nine four-year-old kindergarten classrooms across the Trident Area. Through the program, children have the opportunity to take home award-winning, age-appropriate books for a week at a time and read the books with their parents. A different set of books is available to them each week. Parents and children are encouraged to become involved with their local public library as well.
