The
Tocqueville Society is named for the 19th-century French
historian Alexis de Tocqueville who, in his classic treatise
Democracy in America admired Americans' unique spirit
of volunteerism. The Tocqueville Society bears the
Fleur de
Lis symbol, representing faith, wisdom and valor.
Members are a special group of influential individuals who partner with Trident
United Way to make this a strong, healthy community. Through
their compassion and philanthropy, these individuals demonstrate
exceptional generosity and leadership, and provide the impetus
for real change in our region.
We are proud to recognize these local
philanthropists who annually contribute $10,000 or more to
United Way. Through unparalleled commitment, Society members
reflect extraordinary concern, foresight and dedication to
inspire a better way of life for everyone.
Please contact Kenton Morrison (kmorrison@tuw.org),
vice president of major gifts and planned giving, at (843)
740-9000, ext. 240 if you would like more information on
joining the Tocqueville Society. Benefits include invitation
to fall and spring members-only special events, private tours
of our funded partners, and photo recognition in our annual
Leadership and Endowment book.
